Life Happens

It's been awhile since I have updated. So many things have kept me away from writing but I'm hopefully back.  After my grandpa passed away we went right into full swing with all three of the older kids starting baseball and softball. Nate's baseball had started but Brandon and Elaina started the weekend we got back from Grams and Gramps house.  It is so fun to watch my littles do what they love,  each of them have great coaches and that is always helpful.

Brandon just made honor roll in Kumon and was so pumped to be on track to meet his goal before summer and Elaina should meet her goal as well, we are so proud of them.  Nate and Elaina received great grades this past quarter and they work hard every day to keep them that way...we have very hardworking littles that is for sure.

Brad and I also celebrated 16 years of marriage at the end of January.  It amazes me how time flies.  Pretty soon Ella will turn 4 and that means we will be entering a new phase...a house without true little babies in it.  I am thankful that my little sisters are still in the baby stage of life. I can't wait to meet my new little niece in August.  I will cherish those moments as much as I cherish my memories of all my littles in infant stage. I'm really excited to be able to help my sister in a way I have not been able to.  In years past we have had babies 5 months apart and 3 months apart. This time I don't have a little one so she better watch out because she might find me in the babies room at 2 a.m. rocking her and telling her about how lucky she is to be apart of this great big family.

Spring is in the air and I am so excited to start planting my garden.  I have started mapping out where everything will go and I'm looking forward to working in it with the kids or early in the morning before anyone is up,  there is something so peaceful about being outside before the hustle of the day.

I have come across a magazine that I absolutely love that I'd like to share.  If you get a chance to read it you will see why. The name is "Whole Living" and it really sums it up in the title.  My goal for this year is to find more time to sit with my littles and my hubby, less time on the computer, more time reading, eating little to no preservatives and nitrates and doing yoga.  I find yoga centers me and connects me to my spiritual side by making me stop.  We run a crazy schedule around here; anyone that knows me knows that, but I really want to show my children that taking 30 minutes to and hour and working on yourself is so important.  Ella loves to do it with me:) She does a great down dog!!!

During lent I find myself looking inward at what I can do better in my life. What the lord wants for me in this life.  I hope you have a blessed lenten season.  We have cut our t.v.. time in this house to an hour two times a week.  It has been interesting watching the littles, my boys especially trying to find other things to do rather than plop down in from of the t.v. as soon as they have a free moment. They have to find new ways to decompress from their busy day living...and let me tell you it takes some thinking:) Oh, but the life lessons they will learn from this will be so worth their rising on Easter morn.

Blessing for a great week!
